Translator Services

Translation from one language into another…is like gazing at a Flemish tapestry with the wrong side out.” Miguel de Cervantes

Some of the top translation software on the market can do a pretty good job at converting text into another language, but in the end, nothing compares to the human touch in achieving a polished and well-written document. Unlike many of or competitors, we don’t feed you document into a computer before having a real translator rework it. AYLI relies exclusively on human translators and proofreaders for all aspects of our translation service. Turnaround time may not be as fast, but the end reslt is a translation that you can be confident in and that truly reflects what you meant to express in the first place.

Never Lost in Translation

As far as our core languages are concerned (English, French, Italian, and Spanish), we also provide localization services, which is the adaptation of your business communication to the market in your target countries. This involves modifying the text so that it actually reflects the meaning that was originally intended and is especially useful for marketing materials and websites.

A simple example would be that of the word liberal in its American meaning. In French, that would normally be translated into libéral. The only problem that in American English, a liberal is a person with progressive or reformist views. In French, a libéral is a person who is in favor of a free-market economy with no government interference. While the translation is technically correct, the text would need to be adapted in order to reflect the meaning truly intended by the author.
